REV: AMERICAN BALD EAGLE LEFT PERCHED ON A BUNDLE OF ARROWS WITH AN OLIVE BRANCH IN ITS TALON; DENOMINATION BELOW.

THE COIN DESIGN FEATURES NO EDGE, WITH LEGENDS AND DEVICES SUNKEN IN RELIEF.

THERE WAS A CONCERN AT THE TIME BY THE PUBLIC THAT THE RECESSES OF THE COIN WOULD HARBOR GERMS, WHICH WAS UNFOUNDED.
