PRZEWALSKI'S HORSE, ALSO CALLED THE DZUNGARIAN HORSE, IS A RARE ENDANGERED WILD HORSE SPECIES NATIVE TO THE STEPPES OF CENTRAL ASIA. THE LAST HORSE OF THIS TYPE WAS SEEN IN THE WILD WAS IN MONGOLIA IN 1966, AND WAS THOUGHT TO BE EXTINCT EXCEPT IN CAPTIVITY. SINCE THAT TIME, THE HORSE HAS BEEN REINTRODUCED IN MONGOLIA, AND MONGOLIA IS WORKING TO IMPROVE ITS CONSERVATION EFFORTS.
